Sultan Mohammed Zakaria : In my recent visit to the Rohingya refugee camps, I had the privilege and opportunity to work with Rahi Khushi. She was such a lovely spirit and a wonderful human being. She generously helped us in the linguistic adaptation works of our research. She was recently expelled from her university, and from a social organization (Prothom Alo Bandhushava Cox’s Bazaar unit) because she is a Rohingya child! Can you believe and imagine that this is our most progressive newspaper!! My heart bleeds the way we treat people differently only because they are not “us”. The savagery is unspeakable. Her family had to flee Myanmar in 1992 and they have been living in Bangladesh since then. What is her wrong of being a daughter of a refugee family?! Rahi must be reinstated in her college, and her so-called friends must speak up in her support, and work with her to protect her dignity and respect.
